£19,000 - £20,000 per annum, dependent upon relevant experience.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the fundraising department at one of the countrys best-loved historic and cultural sites. Whilst the Cathedrals day-to-day operations are funded largely through visitors and other sources, we rely on donations from a range of supporters to fund conservation, education, music and special projects.

The new and varied role of Fundraising Assistant is perfect for someone looking to start a career in fundraising. It offers the chance to join a small, friendly, highly-motivated team based in Canterbury Cathedrals historic precincts.

We are seeking a bright, confident, meticulous person with good customer care skills, excellent administration and organisation skills, and a warm and enthusiastic personality.

The Fundraising Assistant will be the first point of contact for supporter enquiries so good communication skills are essential.

They will also be responsible for:

- day-to-day financial administration;

- maintaining donor records on our database, Donor Strategy (training will be provided);

- processing and thanking donors;

- ensuring that the supporters of Canterbury Cathedral feel appreciated, informed and are recognised for their contribution;

- helping to organise events and mailings;

- supporting the team with general administrative duties.

Candidates will have excellent interpersonal and IT skills, be able to prioritise, pay attention to detail and offer flexibility within the role.

This post is offered on a 12 month fixed term basis.
