Join us at Strode Park. We are Kent's premier charity for people with disabilities and have been providing care and leisure services for over 70 years. We know that to ensure our care services are exceptional, we need to have great people working here. If you think Strode Park sounds like the place for you, we would love to hear from you.

Strode Park House is a 19th Century Victorian Manor House set in 14 acres of beautiful grounds in the picturesque village of Herne, Kent. We are a nursing and residential home offering both long and short-term care for adults aged 18 and upwards.

As an Independence Trainer within our day service centre at Strode Park you will provide physical and social support to individuals so that they can achieve an appropriate level of independence, wellbeing and choice in line with their aspirations and abilities. You will fully participate in ensuring students gain confidence and self esteem whilst being aware of their limitations. You will also support the aims and objectives of the Foundation and play a full and active part in the community so that at all times this post, either directly or indirectly, is providing the highest standard of care to people who use our services.

You'll need the following skills and qualities:

  • Have a strong interest in working in Adult care services and a desire to make a difference.
  • Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Must be able to meet the working pattern demanded by the post.
  • Able to clearly communicate with the service users.
  • Be enthusiastic, caring, friendly and compassionate.
  • Preferably have a clean driving licence and access to own vehicle in order to assist service users in the community by taking them shopping, day outings and to GP/Dentist appointments.
