What Will You Be Doing?
You'll play a key role in bringing great people into our organisation, managing the recruitment journey from the first application to successful onboarding.
Finding and Attracting Great People
- Take ownership of the recruitment process, from advertising vacancies and sourcing candidates through to interviews, selection and onboarding.
- Get creative with candidate sourcing! Use job boards, social media, referrals, local networks and other channels to find people who could be a great fit for our team.
- Review applications, screen candidates and assess their suitability against the requirements of each role.
- Arrange and conduct interviews, including telephone and online interviews, ensuring candidates understand the role and what working in domiciliary care involves.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of potential candidates so we're ready to respond to changing staffing needs.
- Follow up leads, reconnect with previous applicants and keep promising candidates engaged throughout the recruitment process.
Building Brilliant Candidate Relationships
- Be a friendly, professional and approachable point of contact for candidates throughout their recruitment journey.
- Keep candidates informed, respond to enquiries promptly and provide updates wherever possible.
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues, managers, referral partners and professionals across the social care sector.
- Help candidates understand our values, expectations and the important role they could play in supporting people in their own homes.
- Represent the organisation positively at every opportunity, whether you're speaking to a candidate on the phone, meeting someone face to face or attending a recruitment event.
Keeping Compliance on Track
We know recruitment can be fast-paced, but getting the details right is essential, particularly when recruiting people who will be working with vulnerable adults.
You'll be responsible for coordinating and monitoring pre-employment checks, including:
- Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
- References and employment history checks, as appropriate.
- Identity verification and right-to-work checks.
- Relevant qualifications, training records and other role-specific requirements.
- Accurate completion of candidate documentation and recruitment files.
You'll follow safer recruitment procedures, monitor outstanding checks, chase missing information and escalate concerns or discrepancies appropriately.
You'll also ensure records are accurate, confidential and securely maintained, in line with organisational policies, data protection requirements and applicable legislation.
Attention to detail is a must. We need someone who understands that recruitment compliance isn't just paperwork; it's an important part of safeguarding the people we support.
Bringing Recruitment to Life
We want someone who enjoys thinking outside the box and isn't afraid to try new approaches.
You'll help us:
- Develop fresh ideas to attract care workers in a competitive recruitment market.
- Support engaging recruitment campaigns across social media and other relevant platforms.
- Promote our organisation as a positive place to work.
- Attend job fairs, careers events and community networking opportunities.
- Identify new recruitment channels, referral opportunities and local partnerships.
- Review what's working, identify what could be improved and share ideas to make our recruitment process more effective.
If you've ever thought, "There's got to be a better way to find great candidates," we want to hear your ideas!
Keeping Everything Organised Behind the Scenes
Great recruitment takes more than great conversations. It also requires organisation, consistency and accurate administration.
You'll be expected to:
- Maintain up-to-date candidate records, recruitment trackers, spreadsheets and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) data.
- Monitor vacancies, candidate progress and outstanding recruitment actions.
- Keep documentation organised and ready for internal checks or audits.
- Provide updates on recruitment activity and flag delays or challenges.
- Support the Operational Team with general administrative duties.
- Prepare meeting documents and take minutes when required.
- Help review and improve recruitment procedures, systems and ways of working.
You'll need to be comfortable switching between candidate calls, interviews, emails, compliance checks and administrative tasks without losing sight of the priorities.
What Are We Looking For?
We're looking for someone with the right experience, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for finding people who care.
You don't need to know everything on day one, but you do need to be willing to take ownership, learn quickly and get stuck in.
Essential Requirements

- Understanding of domiciliary care: Knowledge of the sector and an appreciation of the challenges involved in recruiting reliable, suitable care staff.
- Excellent communication skills: A confident, professional telephone manner and the ability to communicate effectively face to face, through Microsoft Teams and across social media platforms.
- Strong organisational skills: The ability to manage multiple vacancies, prioritise competing deadlines and keep recruitment activity moving.
- Excellent attention to detail: Confidence in maintaining accurate records and managing sensitive recruitment documentation.
- IT skills: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, along with an understanding of Applicant Tracking Systems or similar recruitment databases.
- A proactive mindset: Someone who takes initiative, follows things through and actively looks for solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do.
- Relationship-building skills: The ability to engage candidates, build trust and work effectively with colleagues and external contacts.
- Resilience: The ability to remain calm, positive and professional when recruitment gets challenging or priorities change.
- Team spirit: Someone who enjoys working collaboratively but can also manage their own workload and take responsibility for their actions.

Desirable Experience
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience recruiting domiciliary care workers or other frontline care professionals.
- Knowledge of safer recruitment practices and care-sector compliance requirements.
- Experience using social media and online job platforms to attract candidates.
- Familiarity with CQC expectations and the regulatory environment for adult social care in England.
- Experience maintaining recruitment reports, monitoring vacancies or contributing to workforce planning.

We believe that supporting the people who help us deliver care matters too.
Here's what you can look forward to:
- £28,000 annual salary, depending on experience and suitability.
- Employee Assistance Programme to support your wellbeing.
- Career development opportunities to build your recruitment expertise and progress professionally.
- Statutory workplace pension provision, subject to eligibility.
- Purpose-driven work: The satisfaction of helping build a workforce that makes a meaningful difference every day.
- A dedicated team: The opportunity to work alongside people who care about quality, compassion and doing things properly.
- Room to contribute: The chance to share ideas, improve processes and help shape how we attract and recruit our future workforce.
A Quick Note About the Role
Let's be honest: recruitment in domiciliary care can be challenging!
There will be busy periods, competing priorities, candidates who change their minds and vacancies that need urgent attention. You'll need determination, flexibility and the ability to keep things moving without compromising quality or compliance.
This isn't always a standard nine-to-five role. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to accommodate candidate availability, recruitment events and the operational needs of the business.
Any additional working hours will be managed in accordance with organisational policies and applicable employment requirements.
If you enjoy a varied role, can think on your feet and find satisfaction in turning recruitment challenges into solutions, you could be exactly who we're looking for.
